Tips for new drivers

  • Written by News Company

Driving for the first time? It is very common to feel that fear if you are a beginner. The adrenaline rush, during that first drive, is so real that for once you feel like giving up. It is okay to feel scared because it happens with every new driver. But, once you start driving, you are going to overcome all your fears.

As you become an expert, you would find that driving is fun because it allows you to travel anywhere independently. Many driving schools will teach you how to drive, but not all of them will motivate you to be a confident driver. There are also a few websites now that can help you to book a driving instructor under 60 seconds.

We have compiled here some tips for the new drivers. These tips will help you a lot in learning driving skills while also increasing your confidence level. Have a look at these points and try to follow them.

Practice: You may have heard the saying “Practice makes a man perfect”, so practice as much as you can in different driving scenarios. You should drive in secluded places, and practice u-turns and driving in narrow lanes. The practice is the only way that will help you be a pro in driving. Few websites also polish your driving skills like ezlicence.com.au/

Traffic rules: Not following traffic rules is not cool. Always obey traffic rules. There are so many traffic rules which you might not even know, so it is better to read and follow them all. Else, you will be surely in trouble for not complying with them. Because excuses like you did not know about this specific rule are no excuse in front of the traffic police.

Seat belt: Always wear your seat belt. Make sure the person sitting next to you is also wearing it. Because in most car accidents, not wearing seat belts leads to the death of the driver and other passengers.

Be Prepared: Always be prepared for any type of mishaps such as minor accidents, puncture or any other issue. Make sure your car has all the tools and spare tires. You must never panic in such situations. Breathe, and then see what can be done about it. You should also learn to change tires. Keep your most trusted contact number in your speed dial.

Alcohol: Nothing is more important than your safety and your life. Never drive under the influence of alcohol or any other drug. If you have taken any drug, avoid driving. Leave your car there and go home. When you feel better, then you can drive your car back home.

Mirrors: Check your rearview mirror and side mirrors. Adjust them according to your view before start driving. Because it is dangerous to adjust them once you have started driving. These mirrors are for your blind spots and they are very important during driving.

Indicators: Indicators also play a key role while you drive. It is very frustrating for other drivers when you take a turn without indicating left or right. Make a habit of using indicators to alert others that you are turning left or right. This habit avoids accidents and keep you safe.

Speed: Do not over speed. You must have read signs like “Speed Thrills but Kills.” This is so true. Speeding is very thrilling but can cause fatal accidents as well.

Weather: Drive according to weather conditions. Avoid driving if it is raining heavily or snowing. Even experienced drivers do not drive in harsh weather conditions.

Distractions: For new drivers, avoid all types of distractions such as using phones when you are driving. Do not play too loud music which can cause distractions, do not install a DVD in your car. Distractions like these cause a lot of accidents so avoid them as much as you can.

Tired: Never drive if you are sleepy or tired. If you still have to, make sure somebody is sitting with you and talking to you or else you will fall asleep. You know the consequences of sleeping while driving, so there is no need to talk about it.

Conclusion:

These are some of the tips for the new drivers. There are many other tips but these are the general and most basic ones which will keep you safe. The most important thing is to be careful and be respectful to others. Road rage is natural but try to overcome it. Drive in your lane and take care of the pedestrians who are crossing the road or are walking. Lastly, overcome your fear of driving and this will only be achieved when you will practice. You will do great. Just trust yourself.
