5 Ways to Get Instant Curb Appeal

  • Written by Shan Ge

Curb appeal can make a difference in your daily life. You deserve a beautiful home that you can enjoy every day after work—or during work hours if you work from home. You should be proud and happy with your house, so what better way than to add some curb appeal to it. You can do this in many different ways. You can clean, paint, add flowers, and do many other things to improve the aesthetics of your home and boost your happiness.

Let's take a look at five ways you can give your home instant curb appeal.

1. Declutter your home and outdoor spaces.

Firstly, you'll want to get rid of anything that can take away from that appeal, both inside and outside. That junk on the front lawn and clutter in corners won’t offer the look you’re dreaming of! You can opt to sell outdated or unattractive pieces, or if you just can't seem to get rid of them, you can store them in a mini storage unit. These storage units can be the perfect way to store any belongings taking up space in your home but that you'd like to have access to still. Using a mini storage unit can relieve you from the stress of throwing things out and give you more space in your home for the things that fit your desired aesthetic.

2. Upgrade your landscape.

Your garden can have a significant impact on your home's appeal. This garden can include flowers, bushes, and trees. You can add stones to decorate, make a wooden deck, or opt for decking and cladding with BSW Timber. They can turn your landscape into a beautiful piece of art with their various types of decorative timber as well as garden sleepers and tongue and groove boards for a modern touch. They can also use composite decking if you'd like to add a front porch for easy access to your home, adding yet another opportunity for increased curb appeal.

3. Repaint your home.

Moreover, you can repaint your home to look new again and give it the style you want. If you choose to do this, you'll want to sand your walls and wash them as paint won't adhere to rough or dirty surfaces. Additionally, you'll want to apply a good coat of primer before applying your color coats to create a solid foundation for the job. You can even add texture like sand to your paint if you're adding texture to your porch, for example. You’ll be amazed by how much of a difference just a simple coat of paint (or a few) can have on your space.

4. Add furniture to your front porch.

You may also want to add outdoor furniture to your front porch to increase its appeal, or replace or update old pieces that aren’t so attractive. You can add lawn chairs, sofas, a porch swing, a coffee table, and any other pieces of furniture that give your home a new flare. You can also add decorations like colored pillows, rugs, and lamps to create a distinct ambient from the rest of your outdoor area.

5. Wash your driveway and windows.

Lastly, to increase your curb appeal, you can keep your windows and driveway clean. You can do this with a pressure washer as well as by hiring a cleaning company. Try to reseal the cracks in your driveway to prevent dirt build-up and store your car in the garage to give your home a neater appearance.

Use these tips to give your home an instant curb appeal that will make you love it even more.
