Why mosquitoes are attracted to you


Almost everyone has experienced itchy mosquito bite at some point, although some mosquitoes are more attracted to some people than others. You may have asked why mosquitoes are attracted to you. Female mosquitoes bite people to gain enough protein to produce eggs. The male ones never bite people, but they need sugar for energy; that’s why they bite the nectar of flowers. Body odor

Your body produces some smell after working out or eating a specific type of food which can attract mosquitoes. Your skin has bacteria, which significantly attracts mosquitoes, especially when you have a body odor from your socks and clothes after sporting.

High metabolic rate.

Metabolic rate is the amount of carbon dioxide the body releases as it burns energy. If your metabolic rate is high, you will produce a lot of carbon dioxide hence attracting mosquitoes. Your metabolic rate can be increased if you are pregnant, drink alcohol, are overweight, or exercise a lot.

Your blood type can cause.

Some research shows that people with a specific blood type attract mosquitoes than others. If you have blood group O, you will likely attract more mosquitoes than those with blood group A.

Your perfume could be to blame.
