Pipe Relining is a Great Alternative to Traditional Pipe Repair Methods

  • Written by NewsServices.com

Pipe relining is one of the many techniques used in drain repair. It is done by installing a new pipe lining within the damaged pipe. By doing this, the pipe becomes well-sealed and resistant to leaks and damage by tree roots.

How Does It Work?

The material used in the relining of damaged pipes is epoxy resin. A CCTV is first used to observe the blocked drain and find the areas that have been damaged and need repair. The drain is then cleared using a high-pressure water jet to remove debris and unclog any blockages, after which the length of repair is measured and a liner cut to that length.

The liner is then soaked in the already mixed epoxy resin, inserted into the damaged pipe area, inflated in the existing pipe, and allowed to sit for 3 hours. The entire process is handled by a drain expert to ensure it is carried out perfectly without any holes.

Advantages of Pipe Relining Over Traditional Pipe Repair Methods

Pipe relining offers a 100% fix of your damaged pipes. This and many other positive features make it the best option over traditional pipe repair methods. These other advantages include:

Cost-Effectiveness

Unlike the traditional methods of pipe repair, pipe relining has proven to be more cost-effective in that it requires less labour, less plumbing work, and doesn't involve replacing materials. It also barely incurs any need for maintenance over the years, so you save the cost of maintenance procedures.

It is Time Efficient

Traditional pipe repair methods take between 3-5 days to complete because of the excavation and other processes that have to be followed. On the other hand, it takes approximately 2 hours to complete a pipe relining procedure.

It Adds Value to Your Home

With the help of a pipe relining company fixing your damaged pipe using the pipe relining methods, the value of your house is bound to increase because your drainage system will be in perfect condition.

It is Long Lasting

The method of pipe relining causes the formation of another pipe within the damaged one. This means it is more durable, lasting over 5 decades.

Causes Minimal Disruption, Unlike Other Methods

Undergoing a pipe relining procedure in a house causes little or no disruptions to the routine of the house, as it gets done in no time. With traditional methods, the residents of the house sometimes have to stay out of the house until the repair is complete.

Bottom Line

Proper home care means keeping your house in perfect working condition, and you can’t achieve this if your pipes keep getting damaged more often than you can handle. Simply ease your worries by relining your pipe, as it has been proven to be a reliable method of fixing damaged pipes.
