Essential State of Origin 2019 Details Fans Must Know

  • Written by News Company

The upcoming 2019 State of Origin series, from June 5 to July 10, 2019, is the 38th best-of-three series featuring the clash between the league teams of New South Wales and Queensland. It is dubbed as the greatest rivalry in Australian sports and one of the most famous sporting events in the country that Australian betting sites look forward to. It never fails to fill stadiums and attract high viewership among Australian TV audiences.

Event schedules

So far, there are three official games posted on the State of Origin website.

Game 1 between the Queensland Rugby League (QRL) vs New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) is scheduled on June 5, 2019, Wednesday, at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Queensland. It will start at 8:00 PM AEST.

Game 2 is set to happen at Optus Stadium in Perth. This marks the second time that the series venue is not within the Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney territories. The game will be on June 23, 2019, Sunday at 6:00 PM AWST.

Game 3 is slated for July 10, 2019 at 8:00 PM AEST. The designated venue is ANZ Stadium in Sydney, New South Wales.

TV and radio coverage

State of Origin games are covered by TV and radio stations in Australia. The main broadcaster for the event is Channel 9, airing the events live throughout New South Wales and Queensland. Broadcast times are yet to be released for South Australia, Western Australia, and Victoria. Other networks are expected to include the event in their programming. Based on coverage in the previous year, 2GB and ABC are likely to cover the State of Origin.

Some territories in Oceania and parts of North America and Europe are also expected to cover the events. Some stations in London, for example, will cover Game 1 starting at 11:00 AM BST. In New York, Game 1 kick-off coverage starts at 6:00 AM EDT.

NRL hospitality

The National Rugby League has sanctioned premium hospitality packages in and near the venue for those who intend to personally experience the State of Origin events. For Game 1, access to the Suncorp Stadium Inner Sanctum for $1,650/person and a signature dining package for $1,495/person have already sold out. Only the Captains Club and The Sheds dining and entertainment packages are available as of this posting, for $1,095/person and $880/person, respectively.

For Game 2, most of the Optus Stadium hospitality packages have already sold out. Only The Sheds for $595/person and Official Launch for $195 per person are available.

Game 3 is still months away so the only official hospitality packages announced are Signature Dining for $1,350 and The Sheds for $695. Fans can expect cruise, signature dining, and corporate box packages.

State of Origin fans should look forward to an eventful 2019 series with thrills and excitement similar or even better than last year’s. More information about the games and hospitality packages can be found on the NRL and State of Origin Hospitality websites.
