Cinzia Cozzolinos shares her 7 Day Feb-Fast Detox

Nutritionist and Founder of Nutrition Darling and Smoothie Bombs shares her 7 Day Feb-Fast Detox.

Cinzia Cozzolinos Tips are below and her 7 Day Plant Based Eating Plan is attached.

MORNING RITUAL: Studies show that successful people all have one thing in common - they have a morning ritual. Something as simple as making your bed and sitting for 5 minutes with positive thoughts can provide great benefits to your day.

For the next 7 days, I would like you to upon waking:

1) Make yourself a cup of warm water with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice

2) Sit quietly in a cosy position and think of 3 things you are grateful for (this can be big or small e.g. grateful there is a blue sky today, grateful for my child/pet’s love etc). Spend 5 minutes doing this every morning.

HYDRATION: It’s super important to get plenty of water during your day. It helps to make sure all your inner body systems are working efficiently. Sometimes it can be hard to remember so schedule it into your daily routine. 2 cups of water between meals is best. You can have 1 coffee a day on this plan. Make sure it is away from your food intake as it is dehydrating. Always have some water after your coffee.

MID MORNING SNACKS: These are there to help you stay on track mid morning. If you don’t feel like a snack, that’s okay, you can skip this one but remember it will help you stay fuller longer.

AFTERNOON SNACKS: See page 8 for a protein ball recipe. Alternatively you could eat a Smoothie Bomb (we recommend The Lover Super Berries or The Warrior Peanut Butter) with a cup of green tea (high in antioxidants).

SUPPER: Herbal tea helps you sleep better. Some teas to try are chamomile, valerian. or the many sleep blends that are available these days. I can’t stress enough about how important sleep is for mental and physical health. Setting up a good sleep habit will help with making your body work better and ultimately help in losing weight.

EXERCISE: We know exercise can fall to the back of your mind when you’re tired and busy. For this week, try and fit in 10,000 steps. It’s easier than you think. It’s all about making positive choices. Choose the stairs over the elevator, get off the tram one stop earlier or go for an after dinner walk. If you have an iPhone there’s an inbuilt app on your phone called ‘Health’ that automatically tracks your steps.
