Does A Difference Exist Between Everyday Anxiety And Anxiety Disorder?

It helps you to know the difference between everyday anxiety and anxiety disorder before you commit yourself to a rehabilitation program where you will be required to fork out some wads of dollars as treatment fee.

It is important to know the difference between these two forms of anxiety to avoid undesirable complications.

Read on to learn more about the differences between everyday anxiety and anxiety disorder.

From the name itself, you can discern that everyday anxiety is a mild and manageable form of anxiety compared to that of disorder.

Everyday anxiety includes instances such as the following:

1. Fretting over bills to be paid, securing a well paying job, breakup/divorce with your partner, or other important events.

2. The realistic fear of a dangerous object, place, or situation.

3. The feeling of embarrassment in socially awkward situations.

4. The jittery feeling before writing an exam, sitting for an interview or any other major event in your life.

Anxiety disorder on the other hand poses a more serious problem in the sense that they result in conditions where affected persons have anxiety that does not go away with the potential to get worse over time.if not given the adequate and necessary treatment Anxiety disorders usually have negative implication on one’s relationship, job and other daily activities.

Anxiety disorders includes but is not limited to the following possible scenarios:

1. Seemingly out-of-the-blue panic attacks and the preoccupation with the fear of having another one.

2. Constant and unsubstantiated worry that causes significant distress and interferes with daily life.

3. Avoiding social situations for fear of being judged or humiliated.

4. Emotional numbness resulting from flashbacks related to a traumatic event that occurred several months or years before.

5. Irrational fear or avoidance of an object, place, or situation that poses little or no threat of danger.

Now that you understand the difference between these forms of anxieties. It is also important for you to understand that research shows that many people who are diagnosed with depression have an earlier history of anxiety disorder in their life.

This does not mean anxiety disorders lead to depression because there is insufficient clinical evidence to prove this rather, it means these two disorders occur at the same time in people.

If one is diagnosed with an anxiety disorder that is left unattended to, it is more likely than not that such person will be diagnosed with depression sooner or later.

Is there a treatment for anxiety?

There are many ways to treat anxiety but I will make mention of a few important ones in this article.

1. Natural herbs. For example herbs extracted from a Southeast Asia native plant called Mitragyna Speciosa have been proven to be effective.

2. Antidepressants, although are used to improve depression, medical evidence shows they are also useful and can be of benefit in treating anxiety disorders

Please pay close attention to people under 25 years old when using antidepressant especially in the first few weeks as they may experience increased suicidal thoughts during this period.
