Vitamin C Supplement: Benefits And Risks For Cancer Patients

Is a glass of fresh Orange juice or a Vitamin C tablet your best choice when the sniffle comes on? To be honest, loading up on Vitamin C was spurred in the 1970s, which promoted megadoses to prevent chronic diseases such as colds, cancer, and much more. Later in the 1980s, we saw Vitamin C Ban because they were thought to be causing more issues.

L-ascorbic acid, or as most people know them, Vitamin C, is naturally found in some fruits and vegetables. If a person is not able to get Vitamin C from fruits and vegetables, they can easily opt for supplements.

Vitamin C For Cancer Patients

In the early 1970s, doctors suggested that using a high dose of Vitamin C along with cancer drugs could increase the chances of successful treatment for cancer. This Vitamin C injection produces high levels of L-ascorbic acid in the body, which is sufficient to neutralize the cancerous cells without bringing damage to the healthy body cells.

However, the benefit of a high dose of Vitamin C for cancer treatment has remained controversial. The top reason for the ban on the usage of this supplement for cancer treatment was that there was not sufficient evidence to determine whether it was beneficial for curing cancer or not.

Known Benefits Of Vitamin C

Apart from treating cancer, Vitamin C has a lot of benefits. Some of the most common and important ones are:

They Are Anti-Oxidants

These Vitamins are anti-oxidants, which means that they will aid in slowing and preventing a lot of health-related problems. Along with treating and preventing health-related problems, they also enhance the immune system, lowers inflammation, and at the same time, keep the body cells healthy.

Reduces Heart Diseases Risk

A major benefit of Vitamin C is that it reduces the risk of heart disease. This Vitamin is believed to play a vital role in reducing oxidative stress and lowering blood pressure in people who suffer from hypertension. Keep in mind that hypertension, along with atherosclerosis, is a major heart disease.

Gout Treatment

Gout is an extremely painful type of arthritis that affects the toes. Gout is basically caused by excess uric acid in the body. The uric acid forms crystals in the joints, which leads to inflammation and pain attacks. Vitamin C intake might not fully cure gout, but it will reduce the uric acid level in your body for sure.

Treats Anemia

Anemia occurs when the body does not contain a sufficient amount of red blood cells. RBCs are responsible for carrying oxygen from the lungs to the entire body tissues. At the same time, Vitamin C is known to make your body absorb essential nutrients.

Common Cold

People who suffer from the common cold usually opt for Vitamin C because they're known to treat respiratory infections. However, there is no firm evidence about this, but such a remedy has worked for a lot of people.

Bottom Line

There are no supplements that can actually treat cancer, but surely they can be used to ease the post-treatment pains or slow down the process. If you’ve spotted a cyst in your body, you need to get it checked at VeritaLife as soon as possible. The professionals will examine the cyst and rule out whether it is malignant or benign.
